Cold and Flu Sick Kit + Printable Shopping List

Apr 05

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. All products, information, and prize pack giveaway have been provided by Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. However, all opinions and views are my own. #SickJustGotReal

Hey moms! I know it’s tough work being us! And we’re not just mom. We’re employees, playmates, referees, and of course nurses. We have to be ready for anything at any given time! A lot of us also have to juggle our work life with being a parent too. Unfortunately, that sometimes means our own health ends up coming second to that of our family members.

I was speaking to my friend about this just the other day and she told me that although she sometimes worries about needing to take time off work sick, her employer has a fantastic HR department who do their best to ensure that their employees can get access to the healthcare that they need to live a healthy life. It must be so reassuring to have such a positive workplace environment. In line with ACA Compliance recommendations, her employer even pays a generous contribution to her health insurance. If all employers were as generous as that of my friend I genuinely believe that we would all be much healthier!

I was doing some of my own research about ACA compliance after our conversation and I was so fascinated to learn all about the impact it has had on health insurance. It is so worrying to think that there are people out there who do not get the healthcare that they deserve, and sometimes this can be due to a misstep by an employer, so all employers must do more to follow the rules and regulations laid out by the ACA.

Anyway, not everyone is as fortunate as my friend to have an amazing HR team dedicated to the health of its employees on their side so it is important to do everything that you can to stay healthy. That’s why I stay prepared for those sneaky colds and pesky flu bugs! There’s nothing worse than having to care for a sick child when you’re sick yourself. This is why I take every precaution I can to stop my family from getting sick. I saw some information about how sodium ascorbate is beneficial to your immune system so I’m looking into its side effects to see if it’s worth incorporating into our diet. However, kids don’t have as much immunity as us so they’re more likely to be hit by a bug.

I keep a sick kit stocked and on hand at all times! My best friend always says “You never know where you’re going to be!” Especially at 2am when fever strikes or symptoms begin to appear.

My cold and flu sick kit is so easy to put together and the best part is that you can find everything you need at Target! I love how organized their stores are and if I have a hard time finding something on my own, I can just pull up the app on my phone, search for the item I’m looking for and it gives me the aisle number. It’s so convenient for me. Especially when I’m in a rush!

Reinvent your morning with a California Club Breakfast Croissant

Get up and go, go, go! That’s my life. Monday through Friday. I get up before the sun, make breakfast, brew my favorite coffee and sit out back. This is my me time. I don’t have much of it, but I fit it in where I can. As I sit by the pool, watching the sun rise, the trees sway back and fourth, I take it all in. I try relax as much as I can before it’s time to wake the little ones up and get moving, because that’s when things start to get hectic. I like my coffee light and sweet, first thing in the morning. Hazelnut is my flavor of choice, and when it comes to taste, I have to say that nothing really compares to International Delight Simply Pure Coffee Creamer.

Easy Easter Bark + PEEPS® Giveaway

Mar 21

The PEEPS® and PEEPS & COMPANY® products, information, and additional gift pack have been provided by PEEPS® and PEEPS & COMPANY®.

And just like that, Spring is in the air. Where does the time go? I feel like the year just started and here I am taking the kids to Easter egg hunts, dyeing eggs, making Easter bark and stuffing Easter baskets! We recently visited a local park with friends and had a great time! The kids hunted for eggs, dyed eggs in shaving cream and a new one for me; rice! I really love the effect of that technique and look forward to using it again sometime with my little ones.

Netflix Kids Picks: March

Mar 15

Is it Spring Break yet? I have been non-stop since the last vacation and am so ready to plop myself on the couch in front of the TV for a week. And if not that, I’m seriously considering hibernation. The littles have been quite busy as well. This past weekend, we attended a local STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) event and it was so much fun! Bunbun visited the NOAA booth and took on the challenge of building a buoy that could float on water and hold golf balls. At only 6 years old, she amazes me in everything she does. She built a buoy out of PVC, attached a Frisbee on top and it floated with 36 golf balls!!! She won a medal for creating a buoy that held the most golf balls and was so proud of herself. I can’t wait to see which career path she chooses later in life. Okay, wait. Maybe I can…

5 Tips to Help Power Your Morning

Mar 05

https://ooh.li/feacca6

Okay! So before I get started with these awesome tips, go grab your COUPON NOW!

I used to dread getting up in the morning. I would hit the snooze button over a dozen times before I actually dragged myself out of bed. Until I had kids, that is. Now, everything is go, go, GO! I mean, don’t get me wrong. I still have snooze button mornings but they are few and far in between now-a-days. After becoming a mom, I realized that I needed to start planning my days, sticking to a schedule and eating foods that would keep me going.

All I have to say is…if you like mint, you’re going to LOVE these Peppermint Brownie Cheesecake Trifles. They remind me of Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies. Dellicious layers of no bake peppermint cheesecake, brownies and graham crackers, topped with whipped cream and a dash of sprinkles make this treat perfect for St. Patricks day. Especially if you’re looking for some green.
