5 Thanksgiving Books for Kids

Nov 01

As a parent, I often times find it difficult to explain things in a way my children will completely understand. Holiday’s are one of those times for some reason. I can explain the historical aspects, but not so well on a child’s level of understanding, if that makes sense. I tend to look for books that can help with this. Between the wording and the pictures, I find that it seems to click for them. I’m just so glad that the authors decided to focus on the layout of the books, as well as carefully selecting their font so that it is more acceptable to a younger audience. Book Layout, I find, is very important in a book, and could greatly affect its success if it’s not done right. Luckily, these books that I’ve found don’t have this problem and I can’t wait to share them with you all.

Thanksgiving is about more than just eating, but try to explain that to a 3 year old boy! Bunbun more/less understands now. My little guy however, just wants to eat everything on the table!

Graveyard Brownies

Oct 19

Are you getting ready for Halloween? I have some amazing treats coming up on the blog over the next couple weeks to prepare you for the big night! But first, let’s get started with these delicious Halloween Graveyard Brownies!

Last week, I put this recipe together and it is absolutely perfect for a Halloween treat. The kids can even help you make it! These brownies were really the perfect batch. They came out so moist and chewy. Just the way I like them! I cut them into squares and frosted them with a milk chocolate whipped icing. I then crushed up some Oreos to simulate dirt and placed them on top.

Floating Heart Mobile

Wow! It feels so good to finally get things going on the blog again. I had a freak accident that took me off of my feet for over six weeks, but with the help of my hubby and amazing friends, I am well on my way to getting back to my old self. Being stuck on the couch for over 6 weeks was a long road, but I am so happy to finally be walking again and getting back to our routine. However, with my time off, I was able to do a bit of planning for some new designs and create some pretty nifty holiday crafts. I’ve planned my valentine’s crafts, mother’s day creations and even some Easter embroidery designs so keep your eyes peeled for new crafts coming soon!

The Holiday’s came and went in the blink of an eye and I felt terrible that I wasn’t able to post anything for you all during that time. So as soon as I felt the least bit up to par, I started planning for Valentine’s Day. I finally had a chance to go out on my own the other night and I can’t even explain the feeling I felt when I walked into the craft store. It was a bit overwhelming and so many ideas came to mind. I literally wanted to buy the whole store.Continue Reading

Okay, so Fall is finally here and for me that means more than pumpkin spice everything. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s so close to my birthday or just because it’s so much fun. This year, my kids have chosen some pretty random costumes, but I’m totally okay with it. We’re all going to be dolls and  you’re going to have to stalk my Instagram account to see us on the big night because I don’t want to ruin the surprise.

It’s a little early for me to start posting Halloween related content, but I couldn’t help myself. So, I thought these colorful no-so-Halloween-ish Monster Ice Cream Cupcakes would be a great way to ease us into what will begin the start of our holi”daze”. Once we hit Halloween, the remainder of the year just flies on by.Continue Reading
