S’mores Popcorn

Aug 10

As if you’re not already salivating from my previous Chocolate Chip Cookie S’mores post, I am back with more! I couldn’t stop at just one and I got totally into the s’mores last night. Literally!

Did you know that the first s’more recipe was published in the Girl Scouts Handbook in 1927? This now popular snack was called “some mores” way back when. And clearly, it’s fitting because you always want more!

I’ve decided to put a twist on popcorn for this years National S’mores Day. Sure, everyone loves popcorn with their movie, but what can be better than s’more popcorn?

This snack is everything s’mores and all you need is a good movie
…and some napkins!

Chocolate Chip Cookie S’mores

Aug 10

Happy National S’mores Day! I’ll be honest, I had no idea that the snack had an entire day dedicated to it but I’m not complaining because it’s one of my favorite parts of camping! My family and I all love going camping and we always try to go on a camping trip at least once every 2 months because it’s a briliant way to bring the family together. While we do look on campingfunzone.com to find the best gear we should take with us, we also make sure we pack enough s’more ingredients to last us the trip because it’s not camping if there isn’t s’mores! But the American camping tradition definitely goes beyond tents and sleeping bags. Everyone loves a good S’more in the winter, but who says you can’t indulge year round?

I’ll be posting two yummy recipes for you today and maybe even something a little special to go along with it…

Easy Clothespin Princess Dolls

Jul 29

Summer has been quite the struggle (insert sigh). We ended up keeping Bunbun home and ditching the camp this year. It’s really been great having both kids home and spending time with them, but it’s been super difficult to keep her busy. My little guy is so easy going for being only three. He will find something to keep himself busy in any situation; Bunbun always wants something to do. A craft, a game, a movie, swimming…something! She just has to be busy. She loves to collect things and is currently into the Shopkins craze, which is probably going to make me broke very soon.

Watermelon Kiwi Popsicles

Jul 17

Happy Popsicle Week!!!  I am super late with this post but we have been enjoying my grandmother visiting us. We wrapped up an amazing Birthday week for Bunbun, filled with lots of fun in the sun and swimming in the pool.

One of the ways we keep cool on our hot summer days here in South Florida is by eating watermelon. It’s a cool snack, packed with water to keep us hydrated and the kids love it!

Keeping Your Pets Cool This Summer

Jul 06

Sophie is two and a half now, but her energy level is still that of a puppy! Boxers are such loving and playful beings. Yes, she gets into a lot of mischief but the good definitely outweighs the bad. The kids love her and she is totally not bothered by them at all.
During the summer, we spend a lot of time outdoors. Mostly by the pool where Sophie will keep a close eye on the kids with me. She often follows Bunbun back and forth as she swims. It’s the cutest thing! However, what’s not cute is, heat stroke in pets. Heat stroke can do some serious damage to your pets, so you should check out insurance on pet insurance reviews to ensure your pet is protected if anything were to happen.

Strawberry Glazed Donuts

Jun 24

Oh how I just love summer. Relaxing, crafting, spending time with my kids and….Strawberries! They bring back such fond memories of my childhood. I remember when I was a little girl, my grandparents would take me out to the strawberry fields every year and we would pick fresh strawberries. I remember putting them in my little green basket and how sweet they tasted. Just perfect! Theres nothing like fresh strawberries in the summer to keep you feeling refreshed.

Strawberry Lemonade Popsicles

Jun 17

Now that summer is here, we need to beat the Florida heat and stay cool and refreshed. So this week, I broke out the popsicle molds! Of course the kids were excited and totally watching the clock, waiting for their chance at one of my strawberry lemonade popsicles.

We used to buy store-bought popsicles, but the amount of sugar, high-fructose corn syrup and dyes really bothered us. We do our best to only eat organics and shop exclusively at Whole Foods. Don’t get me wrong, there are many conventional items we still purchase from time to time, but mostly everything in our home is Organic and GMO Free. Just like these popsicles!
