Holiday Blossom Christmas Tree Cookies and Betty Crocker Giveaway

Dec 03

With the holidays fast approaching, It’s always been my goal to be sure that my children know the reason for the season and that it’s better to give than to receive. I want them to know that it’s the little things in life that bring joy to others, and something so simple as bringing cookies to a neighbor can brighten their holiday spirits.

Baking cookies for the holidays has been a long standing tradition for us. We bake them together for some quality time and then bring them to our neighbors to spread cheer.

Want to spread your own cheer? Enter the two giveaways below for a chance to win $20 Pay Pal Cash!

This year, good ol’ Betty Crocker is by our side! My little guy is finally old enough to help in the kitchen with simple tasks and he loves it! It gives him a bit of independence and helps him to feel accomplished once he completes the recipe with me. He is such a sweetheart and loves to do for others. Even at 3 years old, he opens doors and waits for me everywhere we go. He will make an excellent husband some day. I am sure of that!

For our cookies this year, we picked up a couple bags of Betty Crocker cookie mix, Betty Crocker cupcake gems and kisses while on our weekly Wal-Mart shop. We went with the traditional Holiday Blossom Cookies this year, but added a little twist. Literally!

These Holiday Blossom Christmas tree cookies are quick, easy and done in no time!

Traditional Baked Ziti with Ragu Pasta Sauce and $50 Target eGift Card Giveaway #simmeredintradition #ragu

Oct 08

Some of my fondest memories growing up are in the kitchen. My grandmother is the type that can make something out of nothing. And believe me, we had some rough times where she had to do just that. I don’t remember a bad meal ever coming out of that kitchen. Even when the chips were down! That says a lot about someone’s cooking. If you can accomplish making a meal out of whatever you can find and it actually tastes good, I think you’re doing pretty good.

Nowadays, many families are just too busy to cook dinner. I mean, let’s face it, between working, school pick up, homework and after school activities, most of us barely have time to think! I am one of those Moms. As a matter of fact, throw my PTA duties into that equation as well. Sometimes, I come home and am so exhausted. I literally pop a pizza in the oven and plop down for the evening.

The Vampire Diaries: The Complete 6th Season #TVD & #TheOriginals: The Complete 2nd Season #Giveaway

Aug 28

This is a sponsored post. All opinions and views are my own. I did not receive compensation to promote this giveaway.

Get excited!!!! Two of your favorite CW shows are coming to Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD on September 1st: The Vampire Diaries: The Complete Sixth Season and The Originals: The Complete Second Season will be released in just a few short days.

The Vampire Diaries continues its sixth season with more delicious drama to sink your teeth into! In season five, after a passionate summer with Damon, Elena headed to Whitmore College with Caroline, not knowing Bonnie sacrificed her life for Jeremy’s. Meanwhile, Stefan and Caroline’s friendship deepened as they stood up to the Travelers, a nomadic witch tribe driven to strip Mystic Falls of magic and cast out its supernatural residents. In the shocking season finale, Damon, fearing he would lose his loved ones on the crumbling Other Side, made a huge sacrifice to bring them all back — with catastrophic and heartbreaking results. Season six follows the characters’ journey back to each other as they explore the duality of good versus evil inside themselves. Matt Davis reprises his role as Alaric Saltzman, recently returned from The Other Side. Plus, the season will make you misty-eyed as the departure of a major character will turn lives upside down and leave us asking what happened to Mystic Falls. This awesome Combo Pack contains all 22 episodes from the season plus two featurettes, an audio commentary, the 2014 Comic-Con Panel, deleted scenes, and a gag reel!

Back to School “Mom on the Go” Prize Pack Giveaway!

Aug 18

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Orkin. All opinions and views are my own.

Well, it’s back to reality for us! We did the Back to School shuffle this weekend and picked up everything we needed to get Bunbun ready for her big day in first grade.

Back to School isn’t just for kids though. As parents, we get back to business as well. It’s time to clean the house and get all those snack crumbs out of the crevices in the couch and clean the floors from any left over juice spilled that we may have missed in a rush getting out the door to a playdate. With all the crumbs and sugar lying around, its sure to attract pesky ants and other unwanted bugs. One way you can help stop this infestation is by buying plants that repel ants and other bugs that you can situate around your home. Infestation means even more hard work for parents who then have to try and find a way to get rid of them. Most people decide to turn their attentions towards local pest control experts, maybe one that is similar to this terminix oregon company to help resolve their problems. You may only be required to do this if the problem is worse than what you initally expected it to be. If it is a large problem, such as an infestation of mice or larger animals who keep coming back to the home, you may want to contact a company such as Economy Exterminators to take charge of the issue at hand and prevent this from happening again.
