Do you ever have those days where you’re just so busy and can’t spend a lot of time on dinner? I usually break my Crockpot out on those days. It’s so easy to just drop a few ingredients in there and continue about your day. I love the way my meats come out so tender and soft. On those days, my family usually thinks I have slaved over a hot stove. Little do they know, I just found a smoked chicken quarters recipe and added my own little twist to it. It’s that simple.
I’m here to confess my love for cookies and cream; It’s kind of an obsession…
Cookies and cream ice cream, Hershey’s bars, milkshakes, cheesecake, you name it; I’ve tried it. Oh, yeah! Fried Oreos. Goodness, I love those too!
But let’s talk cupcakes. It’s no secret that I love cupcakes too. They are so much fun to bake, frost and decorate. The possibilities seem to be endless! I had been thinking of these for a few weeks now and finally found the time to give them a go.
Can I just tell you how yummy they are? They have an Oreo at the bottom, Oreos in the batter and are topped with a yummy cream cheese frosting and of course, Oreo cookie crumbs. The best!!!
It’s a cookie overload and you have to make these!
My good friend over at Young at Heart Mommy told me about Zevia a few weeks ago. So, I decided to give it a try and I was amazed at how great it tasted. We are loyal Whole Foods shoppers so I was excited when I found it on one of my most recent shops. I purchased a few 6 packs and decided to see what our friends thought at Bunbun’s Birthday Party. Since then, I have only been drinking Zevia when I am craving those crisp, refreshing bubbles of carbonation. What makes it even better is that it is GMO free, clear of any coloring, all natural, zero calories, no artificial sweeteners, and the best one….NO SUGAR! Which means I don’t have to say no when Bunbun or my little guy ask for some. Total Win!
Happy Popsicle Week!!! I am super late with this post but we have been enjoying my grandmother visiting us. We wrapped up an amazing Birthday week for Bunbun, filled with lots of fun in the sun and swimming in the pool.
One of the ways we keep cool on our hot summer days here in South Florida is by eating watermelon. It’s a cool snack, packed with water to keep us hydrated and the kids love it!
Assemble the Minions!!! They’re coming and we can’t wait any longer!
Stay away from the beaches! Shark Week is back with a vengeance all this week for it’s 28th year!
Jaw dropping encounters and cringe-worthy attacks will keep us glued to the couch for a good part of the week, but we can only eat so many goldfish…
Sink your teeth into this tasty Shark Infested Jello snack and check out Shark Week on Discovery!
Every year, a few days before July 4th, the neighbors line their front yards with American Flags. We invite friends over, cook out back, the kids swim in the pool and we light and watch the fireworks above. It’s always a great day! And for me, a beautiful reminder of my Grandfather. He passed on when I was a little girl, but I will never forget how much he loved this country and July 4th was his favorite holiday. I think Christmas was a close second though…
I’ll always remember the block parties, the sound of country music, the taste of the iced tea and the delightful smell of fresh baked apple pie. Oh gosh, those days were the best! Especially when they were spent on the lake with the boats, jetski’s and fishing poles. The days were warm and the nights were long. Those were some of the best days of my childhood.
My obsession with cannoli filling is something fierce! We can’t even go to an Italian restaurant without ordering them. And for some reason, I think the kids may actually love them more than us. Sure, Publix sells them pre-made. It’s just not the same! It took years for me to finally find a place that makes them the way I remember them tasting as a child. Oh Gosh! Just thinking about them makes me salivate. I literally licked the bowl on this one…
Now that summer is here, we need to beat the Florida heat and stay cool and refreshed. So this week, I broke out the popsicle molds! Of course the kids were excited and totally watching the clock, waiting for their chance at one of my strawberry lemonade popsicles.
We used to buy store-bought popsicles, but the amount of sugar, high-fructose corn syrup and dyes really bothered us. We do our best to only eat organics and shop exclusively at Whole Foods. Don’t get me wrong, there are many conventional items we still purchase from time to time, but mostly everything in our home is Organic and GMO Free. Just like these popsicles!
