This post is sponsored by Universal Studios Home Entertainment. However, all opinions are my own. There are few things in life that are much better than a best friend. Sure, you’re probably thinking, “This woman is nuts!”, but am I really? You see, I’ve had pets all my life. I’ve learnt how to feed older dogs, and how to care for puppies. I’ve learned how to clean up after all kinds of dogs. (which by the way I’ve found the best roomba for pets can make cleaning up the dog fur so much easier if you’ve found this to be something you struggle with). I’ve also loved them all and experienced the pain when their time was up. I’ve had some pretty amazing dogs (and cats) in my lifetime. Do I miss them? Absolutely! Do I miss one the most? You betcha!Continue Reading

Parenting is no joke! I mean, let’s face it…It’s tough work. It’s constant, never-ending work. People often ask me what I do all day since I’m a stay at home mom. That question is usually pretty insulting to me because I think most people have the perception that I sit on the couch and eat ice cream all day. In reality, that is far from the case and truthfully, I’d really like to answer their question with the myriad of things I do day in and day out. Listen, just because I don’t work a 9 to 5, doesn’t mean I sit around all day.Continue Reading

Wow! I can’t believe summer is coming to an end already. I have to admit; I am a little bummed. Most parents are thrilled when school is back in session, but I am always totally less than that. Especially this year. My little guy is headed off to Pre-Kindergarten and I am going to have some serious empty nest issues when he and Bunbun are in school. Thank goodness I have the dogs, right?Continue Reading
Our summer has been quite relaxing so far. Lot’s of time has been spent on the couch and in the pool with friends. Did I mention the BBQ’s? Oh yes!!! With summer comes BBQ’s at our place. Usually every weekend and often times in the middle of the week. We love having company and of course, great food. From Steaks to Kabobs, we do it all and we do it well. This might be part of the reason behind why I have been placed in charge of our company’s summer BBQ too! I must remember to order Customized Styrofoam Cups for the big event. So today, I’ll be sharing my 5 tips for a successful BBQ that will wow your guests completely. For this, I’ll be using a delicious recipe from the Suddenly Salad varieties.Continue Reading
During the summer, it can be difficult to get out with our pets here. It’s so hot and humid that we tend to stay indoors most of the time unless we are in the pool. Keeping your dogs cool is so important. As they’re covered in a thick coat of fur, they usually feel the heat a lot more than we do. Whilst outdoors may be off-limits in the sun, there are things we can do inside that can keep our dogs cool. One of the best ways to keep your dog from overheating is by installing an air conditioning unit inside the house. No matter where you live, you should be able to get air conditioning installed. For example, those in Houston TX could always call out a company like Indoor Comfort Specialists. That should help the dog to stay indoors comfortably. The sun can be dangerous, so make sure your house is cool enough to keep the dog inside. Additionally, I’ve been told that using a cooling mat is a different way to keep your dog cool if you don’t have a pool so it’s worth checking that option. However, Sophie has so much energy that she needs to spend or else she goes nuts in the house. We try to keep her as active as possible while keeping her cool at the same time.Continue Reading

Being a stay-at-home mom is no easy feat. But try being a stay-at-mom and VP of Fundraising at your child’s school. Talk about exhausting!!! I love being there and helping out. The kids are genuinely happy to see me in the hallways and I get lots of snuggles and hugs. The hardest part, however, is finding ways to earn money for the school. Over the years, I think parents have become sick of all those catalog sales and are looking for new ways to contribute to their child’s school. We’ve had a few different ideas to try and raise money. One of those ideas was a casino event for the parents and teachers of the school. Normally, casino evenings seem to draw a lot of people out of their homes, so that is something that we are considering. If we did go ahead with it, we’d recommend that parents and teachers got some practice in by using an online casino (find the best ones at https://www.best-casino.net/). Casinos normally allow people to make a lot of money, so all of those winnings could go towards the school if we held an event like that. For now, we’re looking into easier methods though.
